Simon hits the Road

WHEN BANKER BECOMES BITCH

Simon has his first road show! Its like being on a vacation. Flying around, staying in hotels, being out of the office… what could be better? Sadly, no one has informed Simon what roadshows really mean for an analyst. No wonder Bill keeps sniggering. Oh Bill. They got to you so young.

A road show happens when a company undertakes a large transaction they must assist the deal company's management to sell their ‘story[1]’ to debt and equity investors.

At his first meeting, Simon notices something unusual. He arrives with all the printed presentations in hand. He really stepped up for the team last night. When they got the email 'Rework the presentation because I don’t feel we are emphasizing this point enough.." He reworked everything.
He didnt understand why he had to fly with them, but he heard Bill mutter something about Bankers as a scapegoat for the deal company. He looks around and notices that his workaholic MD is uncharacteristically quiet and reserved.

Simon almost forgot the scary emails he got 3 hours ago...'Where is my taxi? Call the taxi again. It isn’t here. Have you called the taxi? Where is it? ….It’s been here the whole time? You sent another one? Too late I already had to take one I hailed MYSELF, next time you better not screw this up'
Simon take a seat as the presentation is about to start. This CEO has worked with the Institution on a few occasions. He seems friendly enough. And yet he continues to make jokes at the MD's expense. How odd.

On to the next destination. I guess he will have to come back to see destination one. It looks so nice from the cab.

Meeting 2 gives Simon a chance to show how on the ball he is with bringing the presentations. A request at 6am from MD 'Oh, I forgot the presentations in my room. Can you go have more printed and cab back in time for the meeting?' Done.
Beaming he goes into the boardroom.
'This isn’t the water I usually like to drink, you can be late to the meeting, go get me some of the brand I usually drink, and not this size either, I like the ones with the spouty neck…you know what I mean' ...
Destination 2 also looks nice from his cab.

6 more to go.
