Simon is finally going on a holiday. He knows its well deserved. But what is this nagging feeling he has in the pit of his stomach? Could it be...no...wait...it IS guilt. He is letting his team down. In the middle of 3 deals too.
He just called his Blackberry provider and reconfirmed that he will have full Blackberry reception where he is headed. His girlfriend was trying to be sneaky and take him to some rainforest island or something. Such insolence shall not go unpunished - she will now only have access to two of his bank accounts for her shopping sprees.
Bill came by his desk yet again to mention how Simon is going to be away for 1 whole week. Somehow Bill's voice gets louder each time.
He starts going over his folders one more time so make sure his team will know where to find everything. He has to go home in 3 hours to pack and head to the airport.
Extra Blackberry batteries. Check
What else? Hmm...ahh yes the accordion folder will all the deal information...Pitch...CIM...Annual Report...Have to be on the ball.
Laptop. Check
Hmmm 1 hour till he needs to leave. Its still sunny outside. Maybe he should wait until the bossman leaves.
Ugh. That is Mindy (the wifey) calling again.
Simon picks up his bags and walks towards the door. He feels uneasy. He doesnt think the files are organized as logically as he had hoped.
Oh Mindy has packed for him and has headed to the airport. So he has some extra time...just a little bit of reworking...
3 hours later
Simon gets out of his "Organizing' Mode and realizes that he has 24 missed calls from Mindy.
The flight has left without him.
Hurray. He didnt want a holiday in the first place.
